A23 Safety Walk

The safety of both pedestrians and road users along the A23 is a major concern to many local residents.  Tragically incidents are far too frequent along this extremely busy commuter route and thriving High Road.

Last year Chuka joined representatives from Transport for London’s (TfL) and local residents campaigning for better safety measures in a walk along Streatham High Road, and TfL agreed to explore a number of the suggestions put forward.

Today Chuka met local campaigners and the Chief Inspector for Roads and Transport Policing to highlight the key problem areas, find out what improvements can be implements short and longer term, and collaborate in pressing for improvements in safety for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles using this busy route.
