Lambeth Youth Council

Chuka invited members of the Lambeth Youth Council and Lambeth’s Youth Mayor to the Houses of Parliament to meet with him to discuss issues affecting young people in Streatham and throughout Lambeth.

The Council members had lots of questions about how the outcome of the EU referendum could affect their futures, as well as about the Tory government’s cuts to local schools and youth services.

Chuka said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Lambeth Youth Council to parliament once again, after their visit earlier this year to watch the debate I led on serious youth violence. It’s so important for MPs, like myself, to hear from young people themselves about the issues affecting them and their peers, and to hear how they are trying to engage others to understand politics and the decisions being made that impact their lives.”
