Clapham Park Estate

Chuka visited Clapham Park Estate to discuss progress on the large-scale redevelopment of the estate and residents’ homes. Meeting with local resident representatives and Metropolitan Housing Trust’s Director of Development, Chuka saw first-hand the headway that has been made since his last visit.

Chuka said: “I frequently hear from Clapham Park residents frustrated about the delay to the redevelopment program, worried about their own position and where and when they will move, and from vulnerable residents and families in homes waiting for demolition or refurbishment, that are frankly unsafe and not fit for purpose.

"I have stressed to Metropolitan that residents expect clearer communication about the plans and timings of the next stage of the estate-wide redevelopment, greater clarity and reassurance on their individual positions, and the timely delivery of safe and decent homes.”
