Chuka visited the South London Islamic Centre to discuss plans to redevelop their site to better serve worshippers and the local community. Residents have been sharing their views on the proposals during a public consultation which will be followed by a statutory consultation once a planning application has been made.
Speaking of the visit, Chuka said, “South London Islamic Centre plays a very important role in our area, and I’m proud its part of my constituency. It’s been great to discuss the redevelopment plans with the Centre’s committee members and project team today. The building and facilities are in desperate need of renewal and it’s been fantastic hearing how the Centre have been reaching out and working with the community as they take their plans forward.”
