Chuka joined The Reverend Gareth Powell at his family’s old church, St Margaret the Queen, to review their regeneration plans ahead of an open day for the public on 19 November. The project will create a community hub for local charities, social enterprises and businesses, as well as a place of worship and small housing development.
Chuka said: “It is my great pleasure to support St Margaret’s as it embarks on this innovative and exciting project aimed at supporting those in the greatest need. By offering a community space for all to benefit from, St Margaret’s will be bringing new energy and positivity to the local area. It is always inspiring to see people coming together to support each other in such a positive and self -sustaining way. The local support will ensure St Margaret’s will be available as a key community hub, supporting those in need, as well as a place of worship for future generations.”
