This afternoon Chuka visited the Roupell Park Estate in Brixton to raise his serious concerns about the significant and long-standing delays to the refurbishment of local residents' homes.
Chuka toured the estate to speak with the local residents and inspect the refurbishment first-hand.
He then met with the Director of Lambeth Housing Management and the local estate directors to get an update on the works and demand that all possible action be taken to resolve the backlog.
Chuka said: “I want to ensure that residents' homes are refurbished to a safe and decent quality. The contractors must be held accountable for any delays and all possible measures need to be taken to ensure value for money for the tax payer and leaseholders."
