Spires centre

Chuka visited Spires, the Streatham based charity of which he is a patron, to catch up with the centre’s dedicated staff, and talk to users and volunteers accessing the specialist adult learning courses Spires provides.

Learners put their questions to Chuka about a range of local and national issues, including the EU referendum and its potential consequences.

Speaking of the visit, Chuka said “I am extremely proud to serve as a Patron of Spires, a charity which works with some of the most vulnerable in our community who are homeless or insecurely housed, or suffering from poverty and marginalisation. It has been fantastic to find out more about how Spires is providing training and learning support to service users, and talking to trainees about the issues of concern to them and what Labour are doing in parliament to campaign on these issues.”
